No Music Is Playing – Start Here

If your music isn't playing, don’t worry — in most cases, it’s a simple issue with the stereo system or internet connection. Let’s figure out what’s going on.

Step 1: Check Your Music Player

Compact Player

Look at the Audio light on the front of the player (bottom light).

  • Green light = The player is receiving music

  • Red or no light = The player is not connected

LCD Player

Check the screen on the front:

  • Shows artist name or playlist = Player is receiving music

  • Shows “Try Another Preset” or “Disconnected” = Player is not connected

How to Identify Your Player

Step 2: What Did You See?

🎧 If the Player Is Receiving Music (Green light or artist/playlist showing):

That means the issue is most likely with your AV system — not the player itself.

Try this:

  • Make sure the volume is turned up on your stereo or amplifier

  • Check that the correct input is selected

  • Ask your team: When did the music last work? Has anyone touched anything?

If the Player Is Not Receiving Music (Red Audio Light/No Audio light or LCD says “Unavailable”):

That means the player isn’t able to connect to the Custom Channels music stream. This is usually a network or firewall issue.

Try this:

  • Check the Ethernet cable is securely connected

  • Ask your IT or POS provider to make sure the player is allowed online

  • Restart your network equipment if safe to do so
