Primary Playlists and Playlist schedualing
This tutorial covers how to set your default (primary) playlist and how to schedule others to override it during specific time windows using Remix’s scheduling tool.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Access the Schedule Tool
-
In the Remix dashboard, look on the left-hand side under your business name.
-
Click Schedule to open the weekly calendar view.
2. Add a Scheduled Playlist
-
Choose the day you'd like to edit (e.g., Sunday).
-
Click the start time (e.g., 3:00 PM) and then the end time (e.g., 6:00 PM).
-
Select the playlist you want to play during that window (e.g., Afternoon Playlist).
-
The scheduled block will appear in red, indicating it's active during that time slot.
3. Understand the Primary Playlist
-
Any time no scheduled playlist is active, the Primary Playlist will play by default.
-
This playlist runs 24/7 unless overridden by a scheduled time block.
4. Change the Primary Playlist
-
To update the default playlist:
-
Click the current primary playlist.
-
Select a new one from the list (e.g., Weekend Happy Hour).
-
Click Update, then Confirm.
-
The default time blocks (shown in blue) will turn black, reflecting the new primary selection.
-
5. Remove a Scheduled Block
-
Hover over a scheduled playlist block on the calendar.
-
Click the “X” button that appears.
-
Confirm the deletion.
-
The block will be removed, and the primary playlist will fill the gap.
Tips
-
Use the primary playlist to maintain a consistent baseline sound.
-
Schedule playlists to reflect changing moods throughout the day (e.g., “Morning Chill” or “Evening Energy”).
-
If your calendar is blank, only the primary playlist will play.
