Navigating the Health Tab
This guide shows you how to use the Health Tab within the Custom Channels interface to monitor player performance and identify connectivity problems.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Start with the Player Tab
If you're experiencing issues with your Custom Channels device, begin by navigating to the Player Tab in the dashboard. This tab shows real-time performance and stream status.
2. Check Streaming Status
-
If the player is functioning normally, you’ll see a green status that says "Playing Stream."
-
This indicates the player is online, connected, and streaming properly.
3. Access the Health Tab
-
Click View on your player panel.
-
In the top-left corner of the new window, click on the Health Tab.
4. Review Health Tab Details
-
The Health Tab provides more in-depth diagnostics.
-
The top banner indicates current status:
-
Green = Normal streaming
-
Yellow or Red = Issues detected (e.g., network problems)
-
5. Analyze the Connectivity Section
-
Look for signs such as timeouts or buffer empties. These signal network instability.
-
The Status section will display real-time behavior. If issues exist, it may say:
-
“Connecting to update servers”
-
“Disconnected”
-
Tips
-
A yellow or red banner is an immediate flag for connectivity or device issues.
-
Green status with no interruptions for over two hours usually means the device is stable.
