How to Add or Combine a Zone Using a Traditional Wired Audio System
Whether you want to play the same music across multiple areas or different music in each zone, your AV setup and player count determine what’s needed.
Option 1: Same Music in Multiple Zones (One Player)
If you want the same music in multiple areas (like a main room and bathroom):
-
Use one Custom Channels player connected to a stereo receiver or amplifier with zone control.
-
The stereo sends audio to multiple areas via wired or wireless outputs.
-
You can adjust volume independently in each zone, but both play the same music.
Works well when all zones share a single stereo system.
Option 2: Different Music in Each Zone (Multiple Players)
If you want different music in separate areas or zones with their own stereos:
-
You’ll need additional Custom Channels players, one for each zone.
-
Each player connects to its own stereo and streams its own station or playlist.
-
There is a $15/month fee per extra zone.

Option 3: Using Sonos or Bluesound
If you're using a Sonos or Bluesound system:
-
Zone control is built-in.
-
This works with All Access or multiple ReMix channels, depending on your subscription.
-
You can manage zones directly from the Sonos or Bluesound app.
